Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of future orientation in street children. The purpose of this study to determine whether there is a relationship between self confidence with the future orientation of street children. Data collection method in this study uses purposive sampling technique. Data collection is used by giving the scale of self confidence and the future orientation scale of street children. The results of the retrieval were subjected to 50 individuals on correlation techniques used to determine the relationship between the variables X (Self Confidence) and Y (Future Orientation) is to use product moment correlation technique using SPSS 20.0 for windows software. Based on the calculation of product moment correlation in this study obtained value rxy = 0.589 at p = 0.000 (p <0.01). This shows there is a positive relationship between Self Confidence with Future Orientation of street children, where the level of relationship that occurs is high. Based on the results of this study, the hypothesis of research that states "There is a positive relationship between Self Confidence with Future Orientation Street Children" is acceptable. It means that the more positive self confidence the more positive the future orientation is owned by street children and vice versa if the more negative self confidence will be more negative orientation of the future of street children.
