Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of dividend policy as measured by dividends per share and dividend payout ratio on stock prices. This research is quantitative descriptive. The sampling technique used in this study uses purposive sampling. This study consisted of 3 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2012 to 2016 through the selection of company samples based on certain criteria to obtain a representative sample. The results of this study indicate that dividend policy has no significant effect on the stock prices of textile and garment companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). While simultaneously dividends per share and dividend payout ratio have no effect on stock prices. This shows that dividends do not provide signals or information to investors to invest in shares, because investors feel the same when they will receive dividends at this time or not, because eventually investors will reinvest their capital using dividends received and the high and low DPR does not become the consideration of investors whether to invest in a company or not.
