Abstract

With the passage of time, online media also continues to develop rapidly. This is marked by the speed with which the media spreads news to all corners of the world, faster than conventional media such as newspapers. Not only fast, but online media are becoming more and more interesting issues. For example, recently with the news that it was Rachelven who ran away from quarantine. Of course, one media to another wraps this news with a different impression. One of the things that causes this is the implication of ideology and media owners who frame what they report. This study aims to identify the differentiation of coverage reported by detikcom and coilcom in reporting the escape of her Rachelven celebrity from quarantine. The constructivism paradigm is used in this research through a qualitative approach. Through Robert N. Entman's framing model analysis method, the focus is on 4 tools in viewing a news frame, which include defining the problem, diagnosing the cause, moral judgment, and recommendations that must be made. In this study, two theories are used, namely framing analysis and reality construction on mass media. While the selected online media are detikcom and coilcom media, then there are 11 news stories analyzed in this study. In this paper, it is found that between the two media studied, there is a frame differentiation to provide news related to the escape of Rachelven's celebgram from quarantine. The difference is seen where according to detikcom this incident was caused by accident. However, Detikcom emphasized to apologize to the perpetrators and to suppress the public's response so as not to be provoked by the provocation of the case. When compared with Kumparan, it can be seen that Kumparan is not defending any party, and the news seems balanced.
