Abstract

There are still many teenagers who are still bullying other people who have physical, psychological, and so on. It is hoped that the positive message conveyed by the film A Silent Voice to students with disabilities at SMPN 29 Surabaya is able to reduce acts of bullying against students with disabilities or other students. This type of research uses descriptive research methods using a qualitative approach. This research refers to the theory of nonverbal communication according to Deddy Mulyana in the book "An Introduction to Communication Science" which uses body language, paralanguage, Concept of Time, Color as variables. The flow of activities that take the data analysis model from Miles and Huberman in Sugiyono (2017) which consists of presenting condensation, presenting data and drawing conclusions. There is a positive perception and also has a different perception of the film A Silent Voice. Of the four variables used as references in this study, positive perceptions of the films of students with disabilities have little in common in the use of body language shown in the film A Silent Voice, while negative perceptions are found in body language, the concept of time, and color. The results of this study have several suggestions that can be used as recommendations for future research. 1) the filmmaker should see from the point of view of the students with disabilities themselves globally so that it is easily understood by viewers or viewers who are outside the country. 2) The accompanying teacher should also provide direction that is able to provide more encouragement to develop themselves for students with disabilities.
