Abstract

Star Nine Group is a company engaged in the Convection sector. At Convection Star Nine Group has many products that are produced including t-shirts, school attributes, shirts, jackets, and others. However, Convection Star Nine Group still often experiences delays in completing orders so that it can result in a decrease in consumer confidence in the company, a decline in company image, even with this incident it can create a great opportunity for competing companies, where consumers will choose to move to competing companies. In this study, Line Balancing and Work Load Analysis (WLA) methods can be used to solve the problems that occur. The results of the calculation using Line Balancing, the results of the calculation at the primary time have the highest line efficiency of 90.53%, the lowest balance delay of 9.47%, smoothness index of 486.10 but with these results it has not been able to meet the demand. Then the calculation using the Work Load Analysis (WLA) method results in additional labor in the overlay and sewing operation process. So, the optimization of the workforce that can be used at the Star Nine Group Convection is by using the Over Time system with the same number of workers as 8 workers and 7 hours of work per day but adding 2 hours of overtime in the overtime and sewing process by spending the most Over Time costs. a minimum of IDR 8,339,912 per 14 working days in order to minimize delays in completing t-shirt orders.
