Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country that is rich in crops . In processing agricultural products , many machines are used , including onion slicing machines . After surveying the fried onion processing site , precisely in Sekaran District , Lamongan Regency , onion slicing activities are still carried out manually with simple cutting tools . The maximum production capacity obtained with manual tools is 9.5 Kg / Hour After observing and learning more about the background of the problem , we took the initiative to make an onion chopper machine by varying the angle of the knife position ( 90 ° , 60 ° , 45 ° ) and the motor rotation speed ( 2700,2500 , 2300 ) Rpm to maximize production to minimize production failure . The purpose of writing this final report isto analyze the effect of knife position angle and knife rotation speed on the productivityefficiency of the onion chopper machine . The method used is a random sample method . From the results of the analysis above , it can be concluded that the production capacity of the onion chopper machine is influenced by the angle of the knife position and the rotational speed of the motor , in this case , it is marked by the thickness of the onion slices . With a motor rotation speed of 2700 Rpm and a blade position angle of 90 ° which results in a production capacity of 15.80 Kg / hour and productivity efficiency of 93.63 % .
