Abstract
Powder metallurgy is one of the production techniques using powder as a starting material before the formation process . This study aims to determine the effect of pressure and temperature variations on the sinter density and hardness of Al - Ti alloys . At the compaction pressure variations of 5000 , 5500 , 6000 , 6500 , 7000 Psi a press holding time of 10 minutes . At sintering temperatures of 450 and 500 ° C with a sintering time of 90 minutes . The specimen testing process will include a density test , a microstructure test using an Optical Microscope and a hardness test using a Rockwell B ( HRB ) hardness tester . From the results of testing the effect of variations in pressure and sintering temperature on the density and hardness of 10 % Al - Ti alloy , the highest density value is 3.039 g / cm3 at a pressure of 7000 psi with a sintering temperature of 500 ° C and the lowest density value is 2.938 g / cm3 at a pressure of 6500 psi with a sintering temperature of 450 ° C . The highest hardness value is 44.8 HRB at a pressure of 7000 psi with a sintering temperature of 450 ° C and the lowest value is 42.8 HRB at a pressure with a sintering temperature of 450 ° C .
