Abstract

Either on parameter of power quality is harmonic value. To provide high power quality at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC) of power distribution systems, elimination of the harmonic is indispensably necessary, have defined the power quality and given some harmonic limits international standards IEEE-519-1992, and IEC-6100. One of these methods, the Active Power Filters (APF) technique has been studied and developed to solve the harmonic problems. The main objective of this paper is to model shunt active power filter using a three-phase conventional pulse width modulation (PWM) inverter for both harmonic filtering and reactive power (var) compensation. This method effective eliminated harmonic current, and THD value is 4,7%
