Abstract

The Pandaan bypass highway, which connects the Pandaan - Malang road, is the main traffic axis that is usually passed by overloaded vehicles and belongs to the National road type. This number of vehicles makes the road more congested, causing some of the lanes along the road to be damaged due to repeated heavy vehicle wheel loads, rain water and it could also be due to planning which can cause accidents. This road damage is in the form of distortion, cracks and surface defects. For this reason, it is necessary to analyze the factors causing road damage in order to obtain a solution for the convenience of road users. The purpose of this study was to identify the type of road damage that occurred, also to analyze the condition of the flexible pavement and the level of damage that had occurred using the PCI method. So that the solution for repairing the damage to the Pandaan bypass road can be found. Based on the results of the survey of damage that occurred with a total area of all damage, namely 7221.29 m2 with a percentage of 100% of the results of the analysis using the PCI method, the average value was 45.96 in the medium category, and the worst pavement condition with a PCI value of 4 the category of failure.
