Abstract

The purpose of this Study is determine how the legal protection for consumers from misleanding advertising on television exc. Definition of advertising, the function, legal consequences under positive law in force and what creteria misleading advertising on television. The research method used in this research is normative. Based on the survey results revealed that the role of advertising as a medium of communication and information to make it not become unsafe products and misleading, although consumers often find misleading advertising on television, must also be followed by monitoring of the quality of advertising, it is not capable of compalaints by consumenrs because there is no consumer empowerment maximally through the formation of legislation which have not been able to protect the interests of consumers and is able to be applied effectively in the society
