Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of self-teem and selfcontrol with aggressive driving behavior in the motorcycle community in the city of Surabaya. There are three hypotheses proposed: There is a relationship between self-esteem and self-control with aggressive driving in the motorcycle community in Surabaya, there is a relationship between selfesteem and aggressive driving in the motorcycle community in Surabaya and there is a relationship between self-control and aggressive driving on the motorcycle community in the city of Surabaya. The sample in this study is the motorcycle community in the city of Surabaya. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. Measuring instruments in this study use selfesteem scale, self-control scale and aggressive driving scale. The data analysis technique used in this study is the multiple regression correlation technique. The results of the calculation of the data analysis showed that there was a very significant positive relationship between self-esteem and self-control with aggressive driving behavior obtained Sig, F value of 0,000 (p <0.05), so it can be concluded that the hypothesis was accepted, meaning that the variable self-esteem ¬ And selfcontrol influence jointly on aggressive driving and the second data shows that the value of Sig, for self-esteem is 0,000 (p <0.00) therefore the hypothesis is accepted meaning that the variable self-esteem has a significant effect on aggressive driving, then for the self-control variable the data shows the Sig value of 0.422 (p> 0.00) so the hypothesis is rejected, meaning that the self-control variable has no effect on aggressive driving.
