Abstract

This marriage was conducted to determine the relationship between attitudes towards marriage with the entry-marriage system and marital satisfaction in the Bajawa community. The population of this research is the Bajwa community. The research sample consisted of 51 respondents who were married with a maximum age of 35 years, had a marriage age of less than 10 years, and married in a traditional marriage which were obtained using purposive sampling technique. The measuring instrument used is an attitude scale (27 items) and a marriage satisfaction scale (48 items). The product moment correlation test showed a significant positive relationship between the variable X (attitude towards marriage with the entry-marriage system) and the variable Y (marriage satisfaction) with a value of r = 0.506; p< 0.001. The results of this study indicate that the more positive the attitude towards marriage, the higher the marital satisfaction and conversely the more negative the attitude towards marriage, the lower the marital satisfaction. It is hoped that the results of this study will serve as a reference in decision-making for related parties who contribute to preparing and supporting marriages with the tradition of marrying in.
