Abstract
During the train journey from the origin station to the destination station, railroad crossings with public roads are often found. At the intersection of the road, it is known as a level crossing which is a railroad crossing with public roads in the same plane. However, along the railroad track there are still many level crossings that do not have a bar, so that many accidents that occur cause casualties or loss. PT Kereta Api Indonesia which is a legal entity company in providing transportation services overshadowing the railroad sector as well as parts of Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN), based on Article 1 number 10 of Undang-Undang No. 23 Tahun 2007 Tentang Perkeretaapian which states that Business Entities are State-Owned Enterprises, Regional-Owned Enterprises, or Indonesian Legal Entities that stand specifically on the railway. In the statement, associated with the responsibility of PT Kereta Api Indonesia as a legal entity, as well as legal efforts undertaken by PT Kereta Api Indonesia can make agreements with insurance companies to provide compensation funds in life insurance, the action is based on Undang-Undang No. 34 Tahun 1964 tentang Dana Kecelakaan Lalu Lintas Jalan.
