Abstract

The press as a normatively regulated system in law in Indonesia still presents many problems in its implementation. The press as an independent institution that aims to provide information to the public in Indonesia in particular has a kind of "impunity" when the perpetrators of the press commit an offense. The impunity here uses many excuses, and one of them utilizes the independence of the press itself and argues that the violations committed have a justification that is the availability of accurate information disseminated to the public so that the public really knows the current condition of a problem that occurs as a social control of enforcement. law in Indonesia. Journalistic information obtained against the law in legislation as a process of finding and collecting journalistic information which in its process through some or all violates the law can be said to be a criminal offense if the law violated categorizing the act is a criminal offense and threatened with criminal punishment as the sanctions in the articles in the applicable laws and regulations. That freedom or freedom in the press still has limits in the awareness of the rule of law carried out by the court, and the professional responsibilities referred to in the Journalistic Code of Ethics and in accordance with the conscience of the world of the press.
