Abstract

The existence of an agnostic group in Indonesia raises several questions related to the false status it carries. An agnostic rejects any form of dogma and indoctrination found in any religion or ideology. For ordinary people, the existence of agnostic groups is quite foreign. Regarding the existence of anti-Religion groups, of course again referring to the Communist movement in the past, this is reflected in the many assumptions of the people who concluded that agnostics came from the womb of Communist ideology itself. Although there is no significant connection, at least the anti-Religion attitude also appears in Communist dialectics. The state guarantees every recognized religion. Every individual is guaranteed to take the value of the Pancasila in every life and is guaranteed to have a recognized religion or belief. Freedom of religion and belief includes the right to have or establish a religion or belief in which the right is the right to believe or not believe in a religion both theistic and non-theistic and to manifest the forms of religious ritual both individually and in community and in public or private places as regulated in international human rights. Freedom of religion and belief gained the basis of its constitutionality in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia). In the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, there are at least 4 (four) articles governing freedom of religion and belief, namely Article 28 E, 28 I, 28 J and 29. Article 29 paragraph 2 gives more emphasis on citizens' rights. The word guarantee in it contains several meanings including protecting, nurturing and serving. Therefore, the state must not discriminate. The provisions in these articles guarantee the freedom for every citizen to embrace religion and worship according to their respective beliefs, accompanied by the obligation of the state to protect every citizen to worship according to their respective beliefs, without the exception of religious leaders or followers of religion - local religion.
