Abstract
ABSTRACT Legal protection is clarity between legal subjects, or between legal subjects and legal objects. There are variety of legal protections, and one of them is legal protection for consumer. Legal protection for consumer in Indonesia is according to Law Number 8 Year 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. This Law establishes rights and obligations between entrepreneurs and consumers. There are some issues about consumer protection such as standard clauses and the impact for consumers who suffer damage and/or losses as a result of using the goods and/or services traded by the entrepreneur. Author analyzed the issues based on Article 18 Law Number 8 Year 1999 (provision to include standard clause) and Article 19 Law Number 8 Year 1999 (entrepreneurs obligations). The other issue is about obstacles to the consumer protection implementation. Author analyzed the issue based on Article 18 Law Number 8 Year 1999 (provision to include standard clause), Article 4 Law Number 8 Year 1999 (the rights of the consumers), and Article 7 Law Number 8 Year 1999 (the obligations of the entrepreneurs). According to the analysis, the implementation of consumer protection at been based on Law Number 8 Year 1999 concerning Consumer Protection.
