Abstract

The Corona virus outbreak caught the world's attention when it was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China at the end of 2019. This virus spread very quickly in several countries, such as Korea, Japan, Indonesia and other countries within a few months. In Indonesia itself, it has been one year since the pandemic hit Tepar in March 2021, during that one year there have been many efforts and policies taken by the government, one of which is by procuring Covid-19 test kits. Recently, there have been reports that test kits that have been distributed to every hospital in the area were returned to BNPB for several reasons this has hampered the handling of Covid-19. This news was published by Tempo Magazine with the title Corona Emergency Mudarat along with a one-year evaluation of the handling of the pandemic in Indonesia. Here the researcher uses the theory of discourse analysis of the Teun A. Van Dijk model to determine the structure of the text, social cognition, and social context in the news of the Corona Emergency Emergency, while this study uses a qualitative descriptive method with the object namely the Corona Emergency Emergency news in Tempo Magazine edition of March 13, 2021. The results of this study, namely the structure of the discourse on the corona emergency news, outlines the theme of the chaos of the procurement of virus test kits, which causes the handling of Covid-19 to be hampered, the potential for state losses, and the waste of virus test kits that have been imported. This corona emergency news has meaning that can be seen from a series of paragraphs, sentences, and words. The meaning of social cognition shows Tempo magazine wants to provide quality news with facts and social criticism that is usually done by Tempo. Meanwhile, the social context of the corona emergency news, namely Tempo magazine, is a media that wants to implement the function of the media, namely as an informant to the public and as a supervisor for government policies.
