Abstract

Sales is an element that plays an important role for the company, because from this activity the company earns income which will be used as a source of costs for the survival of the company. With the development of the company, of course, sales activities and collection of receivables will play an increasingly important role. Therefore, management needs good internal control over sales activities and collection of receivables so that the implementation is carried out effectively and efficiently and the company's goals are achieved. In order for the internal control to run properly and in accordance with management's expectations, the internal control implemented needs to be monitored, assessed and evaluated by an independent part of the company's operational activities, to help provide the information needed by management. The independent section in question is the internal audit section whose task is to assist management in carrying out its responsibilities effectively. Based on the above thoughts, the authors conducted research on PT. Boma Bisma Indra (Persero) Surabaya. The results are stated in this thesis entitled "ROLE OF INTERNAL AUDIT IN SUPPORTING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF INTERNAL CONTROL OF SALES AND RECEIVABLES COLLECTION OF PT, BOMA BISMA INDRA (PERSERO) SURABAYA". In writing this thesis, the scope of research is limited to the discussion of the role of Internal Audit in supporting the effectiveness of internal control over sales and collection of accounts receivable, particularly credit sales and collection of receivables. In writing this thesis, the author uses a descriptive method, which is a research method that concludes, presents and analyzes data so that it can provide a fairly clear picture of the object under study and draw conclusions based on the research conducted. The data obtained by the author during the research will be processed, analyzed and further processed on the basis of the theory that has been studied. Based on the results of research and discussion, the authors conclude that the internal audit at PT. Boma Bisma Indra (Persero) Surabaya plays a very important role in supporting the effectiveness of internal control of sales and collection of receivables. In connection with the results of the research and discussion carried out, the hypothesis that was originally proposed was that an Adequate Internal Audit Plays a Role in Supporting the Effectiveness of Internal Control of Sales and Receivables Collection. The suggestions that the author conveys in this thesis are regarding the requirements of internal auditors, the implementation of training for internal auditors and the number of effective auditors in conducting audits, so that they can be used as materials. consideration in order to improve company performance.
