Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of the use of social media with the decision to purchase cosmetic products in adolescents. The population in this study was class XII students of SMA Hangtuah 2 Sidoarjo. While the sample in this study amounted to 105 respondents. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires with purposive sampling. The correlation technique used to determine the relationship between the intensity of social media use and purchasing decisions is the Pearson product moment technique in the Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) version 25.0 program. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the intensity of social media use and the decision to purchase cosmetic products in adolescents (Rxy = 0.209, r2 = 0.044, p = 0.032). The variable intensity of social media use affects the purchasing decision variable by 4.4%. This shows that the proposed hypothesis is accepted. This means that the higher the intensity of adolescent social media use, the higher the decision to purchase cosmetic products. On the other hand, if the intensity of social media use is low, the purchase decision will be low. Keywords: intensity of use of social media, purchasing decisions, adolescents
