Abstract

The right energy or load in the forming process is only obtained if the material flow stress is known, without knowing the flow stress of the material (flow stress) will find many obstacles because there will be a lot of time and costs needed to trial and errors and products produced will not be formed and will be damaged. This study aims to determine the flow stress of Al 2075 composite plate with bottom ash reinforcement. In this study varied the temperature of the hot tensile test by 350 o C, 400 o C and 450 o C and the strain rate by 1 mm/second, 0.1 mm/second and 0.01mm/second. The test results of hot tensile test showed the highest flow stress obtained of the test temperature on 350 o C and the strain rate on 1 mm / second about 48.45 Kgf / mm 2 and the highest tensile strength obtained on 350 C test temperature and 1 mm / second strain rate about 20 Kgf / mm 2 . Temperature and strain rate greatly affect the value on flow stress and tensile strength of the material, the higher the temperature will reduce the value on flow stress and tensile strength of the material, while the faster the strain rate will increase the flow stress and tensile strength of the material. o
