Abstract

Aluminum is a lightweight metal and has good corrosion resistance and has other good properties. The way to find out these properties is by doing heat treatment. To determine the effect of variations in dissolution temperature and temperature aging on the process of T6 coal base aluminum composite T6 treatment as a three leaf propeller base material for hardness and tensile strength. In researching the material to be selected are coal-based aluminum composite with the influence of variations in dissolution temperature and temperature aging on casting gravity casting. In this study the authors vary the dissolution temperature, among others, with a temperature of 495ºC, 520ºC, 545ºC and temperature aging, among others, with a temperature of 160ºC, 180ºC, 200ºC. after conducting a heat treatment experiment tensile strength and hardness tests were carried out. So that this research gets the highest hardness test on specimens with variations in dissolution temperature of 545ºC temperature aging 160ºC after T6 treatment process with the results of 68 HRB (rockwell B hardness) and for the lowest hardness value is in a variation of 520ºC temperature aging 200 ºC with 63 results, 5 HRB (rockwell B hardness) for the highest tensile strength values found in variations of dissolution temperature 495ºC temperature aging 160ºC with a result of 230.5 N / mm² and the lowest results found in variations in dissolution temperature 520ºC temperature aging 200ºC with 102.7 N / mm².
