Abstract

The rapid population growth in Indonesia has caused several problems experienced by the Indonesian population such as energy problems, especially electricity energy. as a developing country, Indonesia has an increasing need for electrical energy every year. The development of all sectors to support a more modern life requires adequate resources, especially primary energy, namely reneweble electricity So the need for renewable energy to cope with surges in electrical energy needs. One way to overcome the problem of electrical energy needs is to use renewable energy that is wind or wind energy, that is because the wind potential is large enough so that it can be used as a source of electrical energy by moving the temperature of the windmill Wind energy is also very easy to obtain freely, especially the shape of the plains of Indonesia which is very suitable for developing electric power (wind) electricity. The author uses wind turbine system design with a DC generator. To find out how much power is generated in the wind turbine system after an experiment, the performance and endurance of a wind turbine when working as a generator in the 3rd floor engineering building of the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya. rotating wind turbines with natural weals that have a minimum speed of 3.6 m/s can rotate a 65 rpm generator, producing a voltage of 13:3 volts, a current of 0.17 A and a load of 2.2 watts. the results of the turbine can charge a 0.1 volt battery in 28.71 seconds by adding an inverter to change the 12 volt battery voltage to 220 volts. So that it can light a 220 volt load with a maximum power of 100 watts. A generator with 450 rpm rotation is added with a step up transformer producing a voltage of 175 volts, and a current of 0 149 A
