Abstract

Alumunim (Al) is a lightweight metal that has good corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity Aluminum has been used extensively for components that require light weight and good corrosion safety, such as for aircraft components. Aluminum has met the criteria required for aircraft, but for Al 6061 its strength is lower compared to Al series 2xxx or 7xxx. For this reason, procedures are needed to improve mechanical properties. Aluminum A6061 has UTS 12.6 Kgf / mm2 or 123.52 Mpa, 30 BHN Hardness and 25% Lengthening. In the framework of achieving maximum mechanical properties, the procedure required for heat is suitable, one of which is the alloy and aging process. The formulation of the problem in this research is How to analyze the effect of variations in temperature and aging time on the results of Al Cu casting against resistance testing and microstructure testing. The research method uses 4% and 6% Cu variables with temperatures of 160 C and 180°C and hold time for 3 hours, 5 hours, 7 hours. Tests were carried out by Rockwell B test and microstructure test. The most optimal stress value in the mixture of Cu 6% at a temperature of 180°C and time holding 3 hours with a value of 66.1 HRB and the lowest value of the lowest in raw materials, namely the value of 52.8 HRB. For micron can be seen because it can regulate heat and can affect the shape and diameter of the grain. Where the value of defense increases, the value of the grain increases and where the value of increase decreases, the value of the item increases.
